Wigan St Cuth's U11s 0
Widnes St Maries 30
EXCITING running and great defence saw St Maries beat a Wigan team that had not lost in six games.
The opening exchanges were evenly contested but a penalty near the Wigan line saw crisp passing put Danny Mellor over in the corner.
A few minutes later, further good handling saw man of the match Mellor score his second try to make the half time score 12-0.
The second half saw St Maries dominate and a neat pass by Jack Murphy sent Andrew Sheridan racing in from 50 yards.
That was followed by Mellor's hat trick try, which saw him jink past several defenders.
Coach's award winner Alex Brown then swooped on a dropped pass to race 50 yards before Ryan Shaw scored a 60-yard special to finish the scoring.
Steven Ball was once again top tackler in another impressive St Marie's performance.
