Candidates go head to head to get your vote in youth parliamnet

FORGET Brown, Cameron and Clegg.

Because the one election that matters for people aged under 18 takes place this week.

Thousands of young people can have their say in selecting the two members of the UK Youth Parliament to represent Warrington tomorrow, Friday.

Voting is under way this week with the result to be announced at the Town Hall on Friday.

And there will be no party politics in this election with candidates not representing parties.

All secondary school pupils are registered to vote and voting slips are in schools.

Students at Warrington Collegiate have been voting in the student union this week while young people who are not in school or college can vote by going to the Warrington Youth Support Connexions centre on Sankey Street.

A ballot box will be at the centre as well as more information about the candidates standing.

UKYP mirrors the national parliament at Westminster with more than 600 members of youth parliament elected to represent each area of the country.

Once elected MYPs organise events and projects, run campaigns and influence decision makers on the issues which matter most to young people.

The first meeting of the north west youth parliament members takes place in Orford on Sunday.

We have spoken to each of the candidates and published their messages left.

See this week's Guardian to find out what the candidates have got to say.
