Great Sankey trio's help for heroes and uncle

THREE Great Sankey children are showing their support for their uncle’s marathon bike ride by peddling around Victoria Park 150 times.

Jay, aged 12, Jordan, aged 11 and eight-year-old Jamie-Lea, of Winstanley Close, are looking for sponsorship to complete 10 per cent of Rob Swainbank’s, planned 375-mile journey from Portsmouth to Dunkirk in May.

The former Royal Marine will be taking on the mammoth task to raise funds for Help for Heroes, which supports British service men and women injured in conflict.

Proud mum Helen Howcroft said: “It was their idea to help my brother and they’re really excited about doing it.

“The council has St James Primary School and Penketh High School pupils will be taking on the challenge on March 27.
