Former manager at Warrington Fire Station has died

A VINTAGE fire engine led a funeral procession for a man who ‘lived and breathed’ being a firefigher.

The vehicle, provided by Cheshire Fire Service, was used to mark the death of Kenneth Coleman, a former Warrington Fire Station manager.

Mr Coleman, a great-granddad, died at his St Bridget’s Close, Fearnhead home on March 1, aged 87.

His son, Denis Coleman said his dad ‘lived and breathed’ his job and during his 30 year career in the service he was awarded a bravery award from the Royal Humane Society after rescuing a bull from the River Mersey’s tide.

His funeral took place at Walton Crematorium on Friday.
