M6 car smash leaves one person injured

A CAR smash involving a HGV and three cars left one person injured on Wednesday morning on the M6 north bound junction 21 to 21a.

Birchwood Fire Station’s Blue Watch, supported by crews from Warrington, were called at 8.40am after reports that a person was trapped.

The roof of the car was removed to free the casualty.

Blue Watch firefighter Matthew Kindon said: “This was a serious collision on the M6 during rush hour.

“The professionalism of the crews involved and excellent team work between the two services resulted in a successful outcome to the incident.”

One person was taken to hospital suffering from head and leg injuries.
