Trio are VIPs for garden centre's chosen charity

A GLAZEBURY garden centre invited three special VIPs to help them announce Ronald McDonald House at Alder Hey as their charity of the year for 2010.

Eight-week-old triplets Gabriella, Zachary and Alexander and their proud parents Rebecca and Iain Jenkinson, from Stockton Heath, supported Bents Garden and Home’s choice to raise money for the family support house after Alexander required treatment there.

Rebecca said: “We received fantastic care and support from all the staff at the house, none of which could be done without constant fundraising as it is run on donations alone.

“To be able to stay on site at Alder Hey and be close to Alex when he was poorly meant so much.”

Now fully recovered from a congenital heart condition, Alex and his family will be the centre’s special guests at fundraising events throughout the 2010 campaign.

Last year the centre raised more than £7,400 for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Staff are hoping to raise money to buy 15 beds for the house.
