A TOP Tory was in town to see the work being done to boost enterprise in the borough.
Theresa May, MP for Maidenhead and shadow secretary for work and pensions, was at Daresbury Innovation Centre to meet with businesses that are leading the way in the north west.
She was there after the Conservative Party released a report from Sir James Dyson on how to make the country Europe’s leading hi-tech exporter.
Mrs May said in a statement: “We need to rebalance the economy away from Labour’s over-reliance on financial services towards high tech investment and exports.
“That is why we will cut corporation tax rates, simplify the tax system and support high tech innovation.”
