Warrington twins tasty This Morning challenge with king of the jungle Gino D'Acampo

IDENTICAL twins from Woolston and Padgate took part in a live television cook off with 'I’m A Celebrity' winner Gino D’Acampo.

The TV chef cooked salmon fillets with a tomato and anchovy sauce on This Morning and Ian and Mark Lees, aged 47, joined him via a web link from Ian’s Woolston home this morning.

Ian, a children’s entertainer who lives on Stirling Close, and Mark, who lives on Colmere Close, Padgate, with wife Ann, daughter Bethany, aged 12, and son Thomas, aged 15, said: “We applied to do this on the This Morning website and didn’t think anything else of it until we got a call back from a researcher.

They liked the twin angle and they asked us to dress alike.

“They sent us the recipe and a camera and microphone so we could hook up directly to the studio. We had a run through on Monday ahead of the live show.”

The cooking challenge sees six would-be chefs from different parts of the country follow the likes of Gino and Phil Vickery on the popular ITV programme as they prepare a mouthwatering dish.

The contenders, who were connected to the London studio via their laptops, must try to keep up with each stage of the preparation under the watchful eye of the expert and presenters Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

Ian, who has a son, Robert, aged 23, and a daughter, Clair, aged 21, added: “My wife Diane kept her distance on the day! It was lots of fun, we had a fantastic time even though there was a technical fault! Gino called us the Chuckle Brothers and loved the outfits we made specially for the show. We were pleased that we managed to make the dish successfully.”
