THE Big Brother phenomenon may be coming to an end but for a Warrington couple the reflected limelight from a summer starring in the show is still shining.

Two years ago Mario Marconi and Lisa Appleton were virtual unknowns.

The ‘entrepreneur’ and hairdresser though were desperate for fame and now in the early months of 2010 they appear to have it – or at least a form of it.

Lisa, originally from Latchford, told the Guardian it has been a busy month for the pair, who got engaged after appearing on the Channel Four reality show in 2008.

Unlike most of the BB ‘stars’, they have managed to keep in the spotlight.

An appearance on BBC Three show Song, Marry and Avoid will be joined by one on ITV1 programme 60-Minute Makeover with fellow Big Brother star Craig Phillips.

And the pair met Pamela Anderson when she starred in pantomime in London in December after claiming she was a big fan of the show.

Lisa said: “She was fluttering her eyelashes at Mario saying he looked like Sylvester Stallone.

“She knew who we were after watching us.”

The pair are now living in London, concentrating on charity work for Help the Heroes – a role that has seen them landing a regular Saturday afternoon radio show on British Forces radio.

“We are really enjoying it. It has been a really good experience, it is very different and we are having media training to help us,” said Lisa.

And they are planning on charity efforts nearer to home too.

The couple will complete the 10km walk for Halton Haven Hospice in Widnes later in the year.
