A PENSIONER was strangled by her niece and left surrounded by clothes for her journey to heaven, a court has heard.
And mum-of-one Diane Stephens wanted to kill her elderly dad too so they would ‘both die peacefully’.
She left them with bags of clothes and food.
Stephens, of Birchdale Road, Appleton, is on trial at Liverpool Crown Court for the murder of her auntie Jean Nevin, who she thought of as a ‘mother figure’.
She entered a not guilty plea by reason of insanity on Monday.
