CHESHIRE Police will be walking to a different kind of beat when the police band plays in the town centre today, Saturday.
The Cheshire Police band is enjoying its busiest season in years with school concerts, transport festivals, parades, town centre performances, carol services and the finals of National Brass Band Championships.
On Saturday, the band will be performing a free open air concert in the town centre between 12pm and 2pm.
Insp Dave Woollam, the band’s musical director, said: “I took over the band two years ago and we didn’t have many external engagements back then but we’re really busy this season.
“The band are volunteers from all walks of life across Cheshire and we have a few former members of Warrington Youth Band.
