AN animal welfare charity is appealing to rabbit lovers to give a home to a rescued bunny.
Volunteers for Warrington Animal Welfare say charities such as theirs are inundated with rabbits at this time of year and anyone thinking of buying a bunny from a pet shop is asked to consider a rescue charity instead.
Volunteer Lorraine Mawdlsey said: “People don’t consider the hard work involved and after a couple of months the poor bunny is a forgotten toy at the bottom of the garden.
“Rabbits need to have access to a large run and the hutch should be as large and secure as owners can manage – no rabbit should be confined to a hutch.”
Warrington Animal Welfare has many rabbits of different sizes and ages waiting for a new home.
