A BUS driver and a female car driver were injured in a crash in Cinnamon Brow on Saturday morning.
The accident happened just before 8am on Cottam Drive, near Blackledge Close, off Enfield Park Road, when the single decker bus was in collision with a saloon car.
Fire engines from Warrington and Birchwood Fire Stations attended the scene along with police officers.
They administered emergency first aid to the male bus driver who was trapped in his cab.
Both he and the female driver suffered minor injuries. No passengers were harmed.
Police towed away the car and the bus was recovered by Warrington Borough Transport.
John Bannister, managing director for the bus service, said the driver was taken to hospital.
He said: “He was kept in hospital overnight, he just suffering from shock really – he was badly shaken.
“The bus was too badly damaged to remain in service and it is now being repaired.
“The service was picked up by a replacement vehicle very quickly, so passengers were not affected.”
