Knife-wielding youth arrested in Old Hall

A YOUTH seen wielding a knife in Old Hall earlier this afternoon has been detained under the Mental Health Act.

The 19–year–old, who has not been named, was seen by a number of people brandishing a knife in the area of Gullivers World and Asda Westbrook.

A police spokesman said: “He was arrested on Weddell Close at 1.17pm and taken to hospital for his own safety.”
