A FEMALE police officer was pushed to the ground while making a town centre arrest.
The PC was on Barbauld Street in the early hours of Sunday morning when she was assaulted by a man she was trying to arrest.
He pushed her to the floor, injuring her shoulder so badly it required hospital treatment.
The man, a 30-year-old from Cumbria, was arrested and taken to Runcorn police custody suite where he was charged with being drunk and disorderly and assaulting a police officer.
He was granted bail until November 17 when he will appear at court.
