UPDATED: Man arrested on suspicion of murder

A 39-YEAR-OLD has been arrested on suspicion of murder after police found a body in Bewsey last night, Wednesday.

Detectives say they spoke to a man with minor injuries at 8.20pm on Lovely Lane.

They then made further enquiries that led to the discovery of a victim in a house on nearby Leicester Street.

Police have yet to reveal the identity of the dead man.

The 39-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently helping police with enquiries.

"Police are conducting further enquiries in the Lovely Lane area today," said a police spokesman.

"They are appealing for witnesses who may have seen an agitated man between 8pm and 8.30pm to come forward.

"It is hoped to conduct a post mortem later today and police are still tracing family members of the deceased.

"The local man arrested will be interviewed by detectives later today."
