Man knocked to floor by burglars

AN ELDERLY man was pushed to the floor and attacked by knife-wielding thugs who broke into his home.

Two men burst into the man’s home, on Hilden Road in Padgate, late on Tuesday night and forced the 60-year-old to the ground as he answered the door.

Both men carried four-inch kitchen knives and stole a number of personal items from their victim before making off in a blue Transit van.

Both were white, in their early 20s and spoke with local accents.

the first man was around 5ft 8in tall, slim and had dark hair that was brushed forwards.

He wore a dark hooded top and dark trousers.

His accomplice was around 6ft 3in, slim and wore a grey hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.

The attack was at around 10.30pm.
