TO celebrate the NHS' 60th anniversary East Cheshire NHS Trust is hosting a staff awards evening in September.
Congleton residents are being asked for their help in the search for the trust’s most outstanding doctor, nurse or hospital worker who will receive the Patient’s Award.
The Trust, which manages Macclesfield District General Hospital, Congleton War Memorial Hospital and Knutsford Community Hospital, would like to invite members of the public to nominate a member of staff or team who has provided an excellent standard of care either for themselves, their family or a friend.
John Wilbraham, Chief Executive, said: “It seems fitting in celebrating the NHS' 60th anniversary the Trust introduces its first staff awards ceremony.
“These awards present a perfect opportunity to showcase the exceptional work our staff do every day, and we want to reward those who have delivered excellence because they care passionately about their work and the patients for whom they care.
“Although there are many other awards to be presented on the night, the Patient’s Award is particularly special because it is people in the local community, who have been the recipients of such excellent standards of care, who nominate it.”
The award ceremony will be held on September 26 2008 at Tatton Park.
Fifteen awards will be given to teams and individuals, including those for Lifetime Achievement, Innovation, Nurse of the Year and Non-Clinical Support Worker of the Year.
To submit your nomination include your name, contact details, name and department of the person you are nominating, and the reason for nominating them.
