THREE men have been arrested for engaging in sexual activity in Lyme Street public toilets.

Police are now conducting daily patrols of these and others toilets around the town after numerous complaints from members of the public about sexual acts taking place.

On June 30, a 55-year-old man from Warrington and a 37-year-old man from Widnes were arrested at around 3pm for engaging in sexual activity in the toilet after being witnessed in the act by a uniform officer who was patrolling the area following reports from the public.

Both men admitted the offence and received cautions.

A third man, a 29-year-old from Chester, was arrested last Wednesday for outraging public decency but was later released without any charges.

Sergeant Paul Whitehead said: “We want to get the message across that this sort of activity is not acceptable and anyone found to be engaging in such behaviour is liable to arrest.”

"arrested......for outraging public decency..."

That's going on my list of things to do before I die.

"We want to get the message across that this sort of activity is not acceptable..."

Well, maybe not in a public place, but what consenting adults get up to in privacy is still their business and nobody else's,

The thing is Billy this was in a public place, in public toilets that are used by children. So this sort of activity in this instance is not acceptable.

What consenting adults get up to in privacy is irrelevant to this story.

No, NK, the thing is I acknowledged that this was not acceptable in a public place ("Well, maybe not in a public place"), but the comment from Mr Whitehead appears to be general rather than specific, so my comment is relevant.

But thanks anyway.

The comment from Mr Whitehead does not appear to be general rather than specific - he is referring to this case and this sort of behaviour in public places. So no, your comment is not relevant in any way.

I'd say NK is right and Billy is just trying to stir it up.

Who the hell would want to get arrested for "outraging public decency"????
