DOZENS of children were left in tears after talent show winner George Sampson’s town centre appearance on Sunday.

The 15-year-old Britain’s Got Talent champ returned to town to perform at Chicago Rock Cafe, St Austins Lane.

Hundreds of fans waited in the bar from midday for the Birchwood pin-up, who was due to appear at around 4pm.

The teen made a few appearances on stage and performed a short dance in the middle of the dance floor at 6pm and met fans and signed autographs.

Julie Allen, a parent from Orford, said: “The DJ made a lot of people believe that everyone would get to meet George. There was no announcement. He just stopped.

“It was one of the first times that my daughter had been allowed to wear make-up and it was all down her cheeks. She felt very disappointed."

A Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani tribute act appeared as well as George’s former dance troop Access to All Areas (A2AA).

Some parents have complained that the children who weren't at the front of the crowd were unable to catch a glimpse of George as he was dancing on the dance floor instead of on the stage.

Jackie Durrands, another parent from Orford, said: “I don’t think it’s Chicago Rock’s fault. I think it’s the people who are managing George. I felt sorry for the lad – it’s not George’s fault."

Lisa Matthews, of Great Sankey, said: “The tickets said ‘performing live at Chicago Rock Cafe’. When I went in to get the tickets, they were taking people’s phone numbers so they could have called to let us know the change to the event.”

A spokesman for Chicago Rock Cafe said: “After receiving information that George Sampson would not be able to perform his act on Sunday, due to his contractual obligations with Britain’s Got Talent, after discussions with his management and representatives a decision was made to continue.

“We were also disappointed that George was unable to perform on stage. However he spent much time signing autographs and meeting people and was able to dance on our dance floor.

“We hope to be able to offer a full performance from George at some time in the future, however, his appearance was part of a package of events for the day.”

IT WAS A TOTAL DISGRACE CHICAGO ROCK CHARGED £7 A TICKET £10 ON THE DOOR TO SEE "GEORGE SAMPSON PERFORM LIVE" NOTHING WAS PRINTED ON THE TICKET ABOUT A BRINEY/GWEN WANNABE PERFORMING. MY FAMILY AND I SAW THE TOP OF HIS HEAD FOR 1 SECOND. HE DANCED TO 1 RECORD ON THE DANCEFLOOR AND NOT ON THE STAGE, SO NONE OF THE CHILDREN COULD SEE HIM PERFORM (NOT GEORGES FAULT WHATSOEVER).
THE DJ SAID THAT EVERYONE WOULD GET HIS AUTOGRAGH AND A PHOTO OF HIM, MY DAUGHTER, NEICE,NEPHEW AND THERE FRIEND GOT NOTHING.
TRYING TO SPEAK TO THE "MANAGERS" WAS A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME.
I'VE TRIED TO E-MAIL HEAD OFFICE BUT WITH NO LUCK YET HOWEVER THEY WILL BE GETTING MY COMPLAINT VIA POST

i took my 2 eldest children on sunday as a treat after having my son the week before, it was an absolute shambles. we were stood upstairs but were moved about 3 hours later when the place was packed and there was nowhere for us to stand, my kids were pushed around n in tears aswell as bein bored of waiting!! then for george to not even dance on stage topped it all off, my kids didnt see a thing n were devastated. when i spoke to the 'manageress' on my way out she looked at my kids as if i was a liar about them bein upset and told me that all she could do was apologise!!!
what good is an apology to an 8 and 6 year old that were lookin forward to a special day out and it was ruined by in my opinion chicago rocks shabby organisation and georges poor management. it was in no way georges fault and i do feel sorry for him cos i know for certain he has lost 2 avid fans after sunday.
