Football star Barton jailed for assault

FOOTBALL star Joey Barton has been jailed for assault and affray.
The 25-year-old England international, of Foxbank Close, Widnes, was jailed for six months for his involvement in a fight outside a McDonald's restaurant in Liverpool on December 27.
The Newcastle United midfielder pleaded guilty to the charges last month, but reporting restrictions were only lifted today, Tuesday.
