A MIDDLEWICH building society is offering guidance to residents concerned about the credit crunch.
Cheshire Building Society, in Wheelock Street, has had a surge of people come through its doors concerned about the current economic crisis and how it is going to affect them.
Branch manager Angela Davies said: "We talk to people everyday and we know they are concerned about many different financial issues and how the credit crunch may affect businesses in Middlewich. We want to let them know we are here to help them through it."
The building society is opening its doors to members of the public tomorrow, Thursday, for a mortgage and property open evening when financial experts will be on hand to offer free financial advice to concerned residents.
Ms Davies added: "Experts are predicting a rise in the cost of living, redundancies and insolvencies coupled with a property slump and a short supply of credit.
"This will have an impact across the country, including right here in Middlewich.
"We are very much part of the Middlewich community and we want to help our neighbours any way we can, particularly anyone who is having a difficult time at the moment."
Representatives from Cheshire Estate Agency will also be on hand to chat to residents.
The open evening is on from 7pm till 9pm and everyone is welcome.
Throughout the summer the building society is also offering free financial reviews. To make an appointment call the branch on 01606 832178.
