CHESHIRE is on the list of trusts providing excellent treatment for drug users, according to the results of a new review.
The report, by the Healthcare Commission and National Treatment Agency (NTA), revealed more drug users than before are getting the treatment they need, although there is room for improvement in some areas.
Testing for illnesses such as hepatitis B and C was something that Paul Hayes, chief executive of the NTA, said all partnerships would be working to improve.
Anna Walker, chief executive of the commission, said: "Substance misuse affects not only the individual concerned but their families, friends and the communities they live in."
She added: "It's very encouraging that thousands more people are now getting the treatment they need and this review shows there is much to celebrate about the progress that has been made."
