UKIP'S parliamentary candidate for the Crewe and Natwich by-election has called for a halt to EU immigration.

Addressing a public meeting at the Crewe Arms Hotel on Monday, candidate Mike Nattrass said: "If we need workers here, UKIP policy is that they must apply for work permits.

"There are 60million people here already and the EU open borders policy is over-stretching our hospitals, schools, roads and housing.

"This has nothing to do with race and everything to do with space.

"The other three parties are in denial.

"Any debate mentioning immigration and they don't tell the electorate that because of the EU people from 26 countries are able to freely come here."

Mr Nattrass said that he liked Poles, thousands of who have come to live in Crewe and Nantwich over the past few years.

He added: "But we don't need millions of them. Poland is being stripped and is having to import people from the Ukraine and China.

"We cannot plan our economy because we don't know how many are coming over the border and the EU is constantly expanding."

He said 75% of our laws are made in Brussels while Westminster is being stripped of power.

Also speaking at the meeting was UKIP's MP Bob Spink who urged the constituency to vote for Mike to bring UKIP's presence at Westminster to four.

He said that if Britain was not in the EU it would have billions to spend which could be used locally on services. Outlining UKIP's raft of polices he said these included a flat tax, which would remove 4.5 million people from taxation altogether, bringing back hospital matrons, more bobbies on the beat and the repeal of the Human Rights Act.

The whole EU system is corrupting British life. Most MEPs are in it to feather their own nests. At least UKIP suspends the ones that turn out to be crooks. The others promote them.

I wouldn't vote for anyone who didn't advocate that Britain can run itself.

Shame Mr Nattrass is choosing to go on about immigration. That sadly just makes UKIP look like BNP-lite, when there's much more potent EU- related problems he could campaign on. Like post office closures, lack of public funds for essential local services or the broken promise of a referendum on the EU Constitution treaty.
Buck up Mr Natrass - I'm a eurosceptic voter, but I'm not attracted to immigration-obsessiv

As someone has said, I would only vote for a party that thinks we should govern ourselves. UKIP is the only non-racist party offering that.

Of course what UKIP's Natrass didn't mention is that he is another one of UKIP's MEPs who refuse to publish details of their EU allowances and expenses claiming. In fact NOT A SINGLE UKIP MEP has published these details - despite caliming millions of pounds of taxpayers' money between them since 2004!

Last week a Sunday newspaper did an expose on UKIP's Tom Wise MEP - who seems to believe that his prime functions in Brussels is to rip off the taxpayer and to use our taxmoney to enlarge his massive wine cellar!

This follows another (now former) UKIP MEP being released from jail after being convicted of fraud - claiming massive amounts of benefits he wasn't entitled to.

You would have imagined that Nattrass would have used the meeting to pologise for the behaviour of his fellow UKIP MEPs - not to play the race card!

I find it possitively sickening that the UKIP shower should even have the nerve to show their face in Crewe!

So far as I know, UKIP is the only party to have parted company with its MEP because it was not satisfied with his financial arrangements.

If you look at a recent report you will see MEPs from other parties employing their family members to do seemingly minimal work for high salaries.

If UKIP talk about post offices and point out their closure is a result of EU directives, you would not think to call us "obsessive" about the EU, so why should it be unacceptable to your correspondent to point out the facts. The EU beaurocrats make 75-80% of our laws, so naturally almost all policies have an EU aspect.

What we want is a bit more honesty from politicians in the older parties. They should tell us their policies cannot be carried out without permission from the EU, regardless of how we vote.

Good luck to Mike Nattrass!
