Children's play boost

BIDDULPH children are to benefit from a Moorlands-wide grant of almost £200,000.
The money has been awarded to the district council to provide better quality play opportunities to children and teenagers.
Six specific projects will be spread across three main towns and rural areas including Leek, Cheddleton and Biddulph.
The projects will range from the purchase of new sports equipment to programmes such as Wild Play, which will encourage young people to enjoy playing outside.
The £198,875 grant has come from the Big Lottery Fund.
"We carried out a major consultation with young people, parents, town and parish councils, and audited facilities and play services across the district to identify projects for funding," said Cllr Mark Deaville.
"The £200,000 will make a real difference to communities across Staffordshire Moorlands."
The funding is part of the £124 million Children's Play programme.
