Parsley Pie mural

CHILDREN'S charity, The Children's Adventure Farm Trust, has become the proud recipients of a special piece of original artwork.

The amazing mural has been donated by a talented group of artists, members of the Parsley Pie Art Club- aged between five and fourteen years.

The art club, in Hale, created the colourful three foot by three foot patchwork especially for the disabled and disadvantaged children visiting The Adventure Farm in Millington, Cheshire.

The club provides a creative environment for school children to express themselves, and offers them a wide range of activities including clay modelling, fabric painting, totem pole building and mosaics.

Club founder, Jenny Bent said: "I set up Art Club in 2001 because I wanted to give children the opportunity to experience total freedom and creativity in a studio environment and if they make a mess, it doesn't matter!"

The canvas is a group effort resulting from a club project called ABC, Art By Children, which Jenny set up when parents of the children started running out of space for the artwork.

Members can now volunteer to donate their pictures to children's hospices, hospitals and care homes where their artwork will inspire other children who are less fortunate.

To show their appreciation The Adventure Farm treated the creators to a special fun day with sports, games and a bouncy castle.

Julie Gray, community fundraiser for the Adventure Farm said: "It is always touching when children come together to support their less fortunate peers.

"The canvas is wonderful, and will hopefully inspire the children visiting us."
