A PSYCHIC from Widnes says he might have been telephoned by a ghost.
James Byrne, a well-known medium who once gave demonstrations at the London Palladium, is used to spirits interfering with technology associated with him.
But this latest case is perhaps the strangest yet, he says.
He discovered the message on his answerphone when he returned from holiday in August. The message - a man saying is this switched on?' - had been left on August 7, according to James's machine.
There was no number recorded, but the phone has the facility to return the call.
James, aged 53, of Mansell Close, says: "A woman in Bolton answered, and when I explained who I was, she said I'd done a reading for her 14 years earlier. She said she'd not made the phone call."
The mystery deepened when James told the woman about the message and, after hearing the recording, she confirmed it was the voice of her partner who had died in June.
James says the woman contacted BT to check her phone records, and they confirmed that no call had been made to James's number from her line on August 7.
"We can't explain it," says James. "I'm not saying it's a ghost or an example of EVP (electronic voice phenomena said to be the work of spirits). But it is very strange."
James became aware he was psychic as a teenager and went on to become a very well known stage medium, making frequent television and radio appearances, and published a book, The Psychic World of James Byrne.
There have been examples of James appearing on television and radio shows where the sound equipment has faltered for no reason.
On another occasion he was giving a reading to a woman and was recording the session. Only later, when the woman listened to the tape, did she hear the voice of a foul-mouthed spirit.
James said: "Once I was driving with somebody else in the car, with the radio on. Suddenly - and from nowhere - a voice on the radio clearly said 'James Byrne'.
"That's one of the best examples, because somebody independent of me heard it.
"But how do you prove this answerphone message? You can't."

As for the callback feature, it returns you to the last call that was made to your line regardless of if they got through or not. She may not have called on the 7th. Maybe she wanted to call him, dialed the number, got one ring, and decided not to, so her number would have been the last one that called him.
You can believe this is a ghost leaving a message on a machine, but please, don't say that it is for sure a ghost leaving a message on a machine, because there is so much simpler evidence that it isn't.

i am a christian a strong believer in god and they say it is always satans angels impersonating the dead and doing these kind of things but i had this same thing hapen to me around this persons anniversary who died .the phone rang and all i hear is static and i even saw this persons spirit as real as can be .can god really allow things like this to haapen and it isnt all satan.it really makes me wonder.
i went to cemetery and took my digital recorder and i said a prayer before i did any recordings i told god if it was his will for the dead to speak to me that only by him that when i played back the reorder let me hear them try to talk.everyone i got home and when i played back i heard them trying to speak but i couldnt make out what they were saying.
this all had to be from god his will it happened.i do not think i would hear anything if he wasnt the one allowing it.it couldnt be satan impersonating them when i asked god to not let any of satans angels do this.it had to be from god alone.what do you guys think?

I have posted under the Name Rosemary on such sites as Unexplained-Mysterie
s and ghost-mysteries since 2003 when I first got my computer and the reactions to my stories which are all true are mixed.
But I believe over the years as I have shared my experiences peoples attitudes are changing and by the time you readers reach the Spirit World and prove to yourselves these things are true I think you will be happy that I and the Spirits I am in communication with have told you some of the things they learned when their body died and suddenly they found their spirit high in the Universe without an earthly body and they discovered there they were with all the intelligence and memories both good and bad and they had no way to get back to earth and convince those they are alive because as you know few people beleive in these things.
Why is that don't you believe that Jesus was channelling for God?
and don't you believe what Jesus said about Everlasting life?
And don't you believe Jesus ascended to heaven?
The only thing I believe Jesus left out is that the average human who dies is free to return and speak to anyone who will believe in them and help them channel their thoughts and ideas back to earth.
of course when jesus walked the earth he was a Psychic Channel and he had never experienced death or what lay beyond all he had to go on was what the Angels had told him and I am continuing where he left off as well as are other Psychic Mediums who channel for those who have died and passed over to the Spirit World where theya re now very much alive, and they want the whole world to know and they will do almost anything they have to to get others to beleive they are alive.
