PLANS for 66 homes in Birchwood are set to be approved next week.
The development, on the former St Oliver Plunkett's School site off Admirals Road, is set to be discussed at the council's development management committee in the Town Hall on Wednesday.
The scheme would also see a play area and open space introduced but Birchwood Town Council has objected.
The site has been closed since 2003 and the homes would be a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced houses.
Birchwood Town Council says as Admirals Road is a main route in the area, a pedestrian crossing is 'essential' for the safety of people in the area.
However highways chiefs at Warrington Borough Council say a crossing is neither 'justified nor feasible' on that road.
The application has been recommended for approval.
