OFFICERS at Cheshire Police have issued a warning to parents following reports children as young as six were throwing items at passing cars from a bridge on Sankey Way.

Police were called to the area yesterday, Sunday, but the children fled the scene when a roads policing officer arrived to deal with the anti-social behaviour.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "This is clearly a dangerous activity which could cause a serious accident.

"Please make sure you know where your child is at all times.

"Six and seven-year-old children should not be unsupervised near a busy dual carriageway."
