THE NHS trust that provides mental health services in Warrington is planning to change its name.
Service users, staff and members of the public are being invited to vote on a new name for 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
5 Boroughs’ current name came from the areas of Warrington, Halton, St Helens, Knowsley and Wigan where it originally provided services.
But over the last six months, the trust has won contracts to deliver services outside these five areas and now covers 15 boroughs.
Three options have been given for the new name – North West Boroughs Care NHS Foundation Trust, North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Cheshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester Care NHS Foundation Trust.
Trust chairman Bernard Pilkington said: “5 Boroughs Partnership is growing and the trust board agrees this is the right time to change our name to reflect the new look community and mental health organisation we have become.
“We also feel strongly that our service users, carers and staff in the new boroughs we are and will be serving deserve to have a sense of belonging to an organisation which includes them within its name.”
To vote for your preferred name, go to 5boroughspartnership.nhs.uk/name-change and complete the survey before Sunday, March 12.
