A CAT charity is making a special appeal for a temporary home for one of their ‘long stayers’ to free up pen spaces for more cats in need.

Cats Protection’s Warrington Adoption Centre in Padgate is looking for a suitable foster home for Chamomile.

She was taken to the centre in July last year and has been at the centre for a total of 175 days seeing 388 cats adopted during that time.

The average stay for a cat at the Warrington Centre is 11 days.

Staff are looking for a foster carer as she has a skin condition that requires medication and a stress free environment.

The ideal foster carer would have no other pets, at home most of the day and feel comfortable administering medication although training is offered for this.

Chamomile's illness is induced by stress which causes her to pull out her own fur and leads to red irritation on her skin.

“Nobody wants these poor cats to stay here longer than they have to but sadly they have nowhere else to go until they are adopted,” said Ashleigh Cook from the centre.

“Although we do our very best to care for them, life in a cat pen is no substitute for a home so I would urge people to consider fostering Chamomile."
