A TEAM rowed through the night at the weekend with a 24-hour rowathon in aid of a two-year-old boy who needs £200,000 to be flown to the USA for treatment on a brain tumour.

So far, almost £10,000 has been collected during the gruelling challenge with more sponsorship money set to roll in this week.

Town centre resident Theo Clennon was given eight weeks to live earlier this year when he was diagnosed with what was thought to be an inoperable brain tumour.

But the tumour was later successfully removed and Theo is now undergoing five months of chemotherapy.

The next stage of his treatment will be proton beam therapy, which is currently unavailable on the NHS in the UK – so £200,000 is needed in order to send Theo the USA for the treatment.

Fundraising for Theo continued on Friday and Saturday with the 24-hour row and cycle at Tesco Extra on Winwick Road.

Warrington Wolves players Ashton Sims and Kurt Gidley even dropped by to show their support for the team of fundraisers.
