MYSTERY shoppers are to travel across the First network in North Staffordshire and South Cheshire on 50 bus services every month.

"We recently concluded the second stage of a two-part benchmarking exercise, "said First commercial director Paul De Santis.

"This demonstrated clearly the successes we've achieved as a result of delivering on the promises we made to customers to improve service reliability and quality.

"We want to build on those successes, and our new mystery shopping contractor has a big part to play in helping us achieve more success.

"This company employs staff with extensive transport industry experience, and they'll be feeding back to us unbiased information about their experiences while travelling on our services.

"The mystery shoppers will report on service punctuality and reliability, the presentation and cleanliness of vehicles, how comfortable was the journey, the service customers receive and how the customers and drivers interact."
