THREE talented students from Priestley College will have their app launched on the market after winning the national Apps for Good Awards 2015.

Eve Billington, 17, Ben Dommett and Josh Rose, 18, were named as the winners of the saving, spending and giving category for their app Assemble Jobs last June.

Since then the team have been working on the app, which helps students find nearby jobs to fit around their busy schedules, with creative technology consultancy Codelegs.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Eve said: “We’re really proud of how our app has turned out.

"When we were announced as the winners of our category, we couldn’t believe it.

"Getting to work with a professional agency to get Assemble Jobs on Google Play has been really interesting and we’ve really enjoyed the whole experience.

"We are very excited to see what the future holds."

Their app’s full development follows the students’ participation in the Apps for Good course, a programme provided free of charge to teachers to transform technology education.

Debbie Forster, co-CEO of Apps for Good said: “Our mission is to power a generation to change their world with technology and help them thrive in a tech driven future.

"We are absolutely delighted to be launching these seven apps and are very proud of the students behind them; they are outstanding examples of what our young people can achieve.”
