WHEN I look back on 2015, it has been an amazing 12 months.

I think I would sum it up as a real rollercoaster and I certainly would not have expected to be sitting here in this job if you had asked me in December 2014.

I always say in sport the highs are very high and the lows are very low and if we reflect on the pitch, that has been the case here.

We have been inconsistent with some amazing moments but real lows.

The home win over Wigan on the same day as our brand refresh was a real high moment as was the first half away at Castleford, the last 10 seconds at home to Widnes and the second half in the Challenge Cup quarter final with Leigh.

We also finished on a high by beating Catalans and Saints and it was great to send Joel Monaghan away with 145 tries in 145 games.

I think the finish to the season has given us a real launch pad for a much better 2016.

We have had a bigger than expected number of comings and goings in players than we anticipated and we are really pleased with the new players we have recruited.

Off the pitch I am really pleased that we are now much more engaged with our fans.

We have improved so much and fixed many of the 'you said, we did' that came out of our survey.

It is funny to think that we will be doing this again in not too long.

The one thing that has really struck me since taking the job has been the strength of the board here.

From a governance point of view they are strong, but the commitment and dedication from the board is second to none.

We could not do the things we want to do without the significant investment from Simon Moran, Stuart Middleton and Mike Lomax.

They don't just come to meetings to sit around a table, and they are not just investing on the pitch but they also give a huge amount of time.

Stuart has helped on the retail side, Simon on the playing side and Mike and I have been to meet so many partners together.

We could not invest in players and launch a membership scheme, pay for a new website, put in new coffee bars and two new bars without them.

It simply would not happen.

We also have Norman Summer, with the old Greenalls links, who is strong on the accountancy side, the experience and contacts of Steven Broomhead.

It has been sad that Lance James has been so ill this year but it was great to see him back at some games towards the end of the season.
