Police are appealing for witnesses after a 25-year-old man suffered a broken jaw in an unprovoked attack on Padgate Lane.

Officers say a man got out of a black Renault car close to the junction with Beechwood Avenue, and punched the victim in an ‘upper-cut style’ to the bottom of his chin.

The attacker then got back in the car and drove off towards Orford Road.

The incident happened between 10.30pm and 11pm on Wednesday, July 9.

Police say the offender is described as being white, 6ft 1ins tall and of stocky build, with blonde hair that is short at the sides and longer on top.

Anyone who may have seen the incident or has any information is urged to contact DC Richard Kennedy, from Cheshire Police, on 101 number, quoting incident 422 of 9 July 2014.

Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
