THE pastoral care team at St Philip’s Church, Westbrook hit a new record after raising the most amount of cash yet through the Peace Centre’s ‘Peace of cake’ fundraiser.

The cake sale, alongside strawberry teas and a tombola, helped raise £848.50 to support the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace.

Community fundraiser Pam White said everyone had done a ‘fantastic job’.

Asda Westbrook will also be holding a tombola in store to raise funds on Saturday from 10am to 4pm while the charity also want to thank everyone for their support at the Sephton Memorial Trophy event which raised £380.

The next event scheduled is Proms in the Park at the Peninsula Barracks, O’Leary Street on July 20.

Doors open at 3.30pm and proceeds will support three charities including the Peace Centre.

Tickets are £7, concessions £6 and children under 14 free.
