POLICE are still hunting for these men in connection to the armed robbery that ultimately lead to Shafilea Ahmed’s parents being convicted for her murder.

Yesterday officers announced that questions raised over the involvement of any other relatives or family friends in her ‘honour killing’ have now been closed.

Following the convictions of Iftikhar Ahmed, aged 52, and Farzana Ahmed, aged 49, in August, police said that they were considering other suspects.

A spokesman confirmed on Wednesday there are ‘no active lines of enquiry’ in the murder investigation, which is now over.

But police continue to investigate the violent raid at the Ahmed family home on Liverpool Road in Great Sankey on August 25 2010.

It was engineered by Alesha Ahmed, aged 24, who arranged for a masked gang to steal jewellery and cash.

The two suspects seen in the images were caught on CCTV at a petrol station in the Castle Bromwich area of Birmingham on the night of the robbery.

Ms Ahmed remains the only person to be charged and was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Friday.

It was following her arrest she told police she had witnessed her 17-year-old sister’s murder.

A 25-year-old man from Bolton and a 28-year-old man from Worcester were also arrested in connection with the robbery but were released without charge.

DI Dougie Shaw said: “The men involved in the robbery remain outstanding. Enquiries are ongoing to identify these offenders and ensure they are brought to justice.

"The case remains open and lines of investigation into the outstanding offenders are continuing.

“We are urging anyone who has any information, which could assist with our enquiries, to come forward.

“We are committed to doing all we can to trace those responsible.”

Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting Operation Ore or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
