Fierce blaze as loft insulation catches fire

A FIERCE blaze ripped through derelict land used for storage in Widnes last night.
A large quantity of fibreglass loft insulation left on pallets caught fire.
Five pumps tackled the inferno at the former site of Tessenderlo in Desoto Road on the Eddarbridge Industrial Estate.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Firefighters were still at the scene damping down this morning.
