Former gladiator teaches fitness

A FORMER star of hit 90s television show Gladiators is running fitness classes in Knutsford.

Diane Youdale - better known as Jet - has started Pilates and dance sessions at the leisure centre.

Yesterday (Tuesday) the qualified fitness instructor said she had returned to her roots by setting up the weekly classes.

"For years I was always doing training on a Saturday morning, so it feels like coming home to me," she said.

Gladiators aired for eight years and, at its height, attracted more than 14 million viewers.

Diane, now 38, appeared in four series as Jet and was one of the most popular stars, especially with teenage boys and their dads.

She recently visited Knutsford High School, where her partner Andy was a pupil, and the leisure centre.

The pair saw a performing arts class and Diane enquired about running fitness classes.

Diane ran her first sessions at the leisure centre on Saturday and attracted much attention.

The Pilates session starts at 10am and the dance class starts at 11am on Saturday.

Diane is also currently working on Sky One's new version of Gladiators and its website.
