A WARRINGTON beauty has reached the final of national modelling competition.

Fashion student, Lucy Lambert, aged 18, wowed the judges of Miss Teen Beauty with her bubbly personality at the competition's regional finals for girls aged between 13 and 18 at Middlewich Civic Hall.

Lucy, from Ellesmere Road, Walton, came second and has been given a 12 month modelling contract with the competition brand.

Beverley Cunningham, Lucy's mum, said: "She's one of those who will have a go at anything, she saw it as an opportunity and wanted to have a go. We support her fully. She actually made a skirt that she wore in the final."

Coming second out of 1,500 applicants, the former Bridgewater pupil could secure a place in the Miss International competition in Chicago if she tops the national finals in June.

Organiser Neil Eddnie said he was thrilled with this year's turnout.

"I think it's gone very well and the competition has been very tight this year," he said.

Lucy is hoping to study for a fashion and textiles degree in Manchester.
