HOME is where the heart is for an Urmston eaterie, which is in the final six to become Manchester restaurant of the year.
The Isinglass English Dining Room on Flixton Road has been nominated for the award in the forthcoming Manchester Food and Drinks Festival.
Owners, Julie Bagnol and Lisa Walker said they were delighted to hear the news and attributed their restaurant's popularity to the menu, which uses only local ingredients in season, such as Dunham Massey vegetables.
They said: "We've stuck to our guns and only make British recipes. We've also had tremendous support from people in the Urmston area, which has really helped us."
Trafford Council are also thrilled by the impact that the restaurant has had on raising the profile of Urmston town centre.
Executive councillor Michael Whetton said: "Isinglass is a welcome addition to Urmston and has helped to enhance the area.
"The council wishes it, and all other Trafford businesses taking part in the food festival, all the best for this year's festival."
Isinglass will find out if it is restaurant of the year at a grand ceremony and gala dinner on October 15 at Manchester Town Hall.
The results of the final will be determined by a public vote with the judges having the final say.
