WARRINGTON Wolves director of commercial development Dave Hutchinson has paid tribute to groundsman Mel Jones for helping to attract Liverpool Reserves to The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
The stadium's playing surface has been in superb condition since being re-laid in the winter and a good pitch was a factor in Liverpool's decision.
Hutchinson said: "A lot of credit has to go to Mel.
"Everyone who comes here comments on how well the pitch is looking.
"Given the rain we've had lately, it's taken a lot of hammer but Mel has got a footballing background himself so he knows what he needs to do to make a good football pitch and he'll certainly be working on that."
