Photographer finds new depths

A FORMER Northwich man is offering the public the chance to look into world's deepest caves.

Adventure photographer Robbie Shone has travelled the world photographing caves and is now displaying his work in an exhibition at the Castleton Visitor's Centre in the Peak District.

The 27-year-old, formerly of Delamere Park, has completed dangerous expeditions to get his shots in places like Papua New Guinea and the jungles of Borneo.

He said: "Some of the places I've been to are places that may never be seen again and these photos are the only things that can show the general public what lies beneath."

The thrill-seeker, who first got interested in caving when at university in Sheffield, was part of a team who discovered the UK's biggest cave Titan last year.

"The shots of Titan were the most challenging to get because I had to get all my camera equipment into the cave and ended up suspended from a rope.

"It was quite scary and intimidating to know that there's 500 foot of nothing below you," he added.
