IF you are in need of a laugh make your way to the Pyramid Arts Centre this Saturday to see Rhod Gilbert's critically acclaimed show Who's Eaten Gilbert Grape?
The Welsh comedian's stand-up tour premiered at the Edinburgh Festival earlier this year and is a follow up to his two sell-out successes Knocking on Heaven's Door and Rhod Gilbert's 1984.
Having watched the movie What's Eating Gilbert Grape? and been struck by the parallels with his own life the funnyman listed as one of The Times Top 50 Comedians will be drawing on the comic talents that saw him named the Voice of Wales last year.
While in the film Gilbert Grape is trapped in a mundane existence in the fictional backwater of Endora, Rhod Gilbert says he spent 25 miserable years with a fictional family in Llanbobl, a Welsh village of his own invention. And even though Gilbert Grape's life had taken a slight detour, Rhod believes his has fallen asleep at the wheel and driven into a ravine!
Tickets priced £10 are available from the Pyramid Centre on 442345. Doors open at 8pm.
