HE'S a canny fella that Jimmy Carr.

Razor sharp, quick-witted - and expert at making a handful of individuals in a 2,500-strong audience make utter fools of themselves for our pleasure.

There's a saying: Give a man enough rope and he'll hang himself.

And so Mr Carr - he of 8 out of 10 Cats fame and the face of almost any The best 100' run downs on Channel 4 - actually invited heckles from the audience.

The second half of the show saw him asking the audience for their problems and finishing with a round of any questions'.

And it's with a wry smile that his come and have a go if you think you're smart enough' tactics paid off.

The subject matter was truly offensive - mainly the seedy side of sex, but incorporating articulate' swearing, religion and how to really offend people - but you can't say you weren't warned.

However, the really scary thing was the stuff the audience was coming out with.

A handful of heckles were timed to perfection; the majority were simply bizarre or absolute gold for our Jimmy.

No matter. Jimmy proved king of them all and cut each one down with an incredibly intelligent and lightning fast response.

But he's not just a one-trick pony.

We basically got two-and-a-bit hours of a man on top form chucking one liners at us like bullets from a machine gun, while also humiliating anyone who dared to enter his radar. My cheeks were hurting by the end and my moral compass' was well and truly knackered. A brilliant night's comedy from one of the country's top talents - under-estimate him at your peril!
