ONE lucky Knutsford Guardian reader is being given the chance to celebrate New Year's Eve in style.

We have secured one pair of tickets for A Night at the Grand Opera with Manchester Camerata on December 31.

The performance, which will be conducted by Stuart Stratford, starts at 7.30pm.

This sparkling evening features glorious opera favourites presented by BBC Radio 3's voice of opera - Stephanie Hughes.

It is the highlight of Manchester Camerata's season and is set to be a great way to see out 2006.

Stephanie will present well-known opera arias and choruses.

Young conductor and rising star of the opera world - Stuart Stratford - will take to the podium to lead one of the UK's leading chamber orchestras.

He has recently worked on productions for Opera North, English National Opera and Welsh National Opera. The programme features some of the finest operatic works by Verdi, Puccini, and Bizet and arias and choruses from operas such as Rigoletto, Carmen, La Traviata and Madame Butterfly.

Soloists for the evening include young Irish soprano Alison Roddy and the Welsh National Opera's principal tenor - Wynne Evans.

They will be joined by St. George's Singers.
