JULES Verne’s classic sci-fi tale gets a modern update in this fun family adventure starring Brendan Fraser.

Dispel memories of the creaky old Doug McClure version – there are no dodgy special effects here.

Fraser is a college lecturer whose nephew comes to stay and together they do exactly what the title says, journey to the center (this is a US movie, hence the US spelling) of the earth.

Great fun and very exciting.
