I'M a big fan of love. Love in its many forms and guises. I'm an even bigger fan of The Golden Girls.

Luckily for me, Lucy Porter's Love In had a huge helping of both.

Lucy's philosophy is that love is a mental illness, making you act irrationally, out of character and let's be honest, sometimes like a psycho. Couple this with an imaginary dog called Bouncy Nora and a penchant for turning everything off three times, and Lucy's love life sounds like an episode of The OC..D.

I do enjoy observational comedy. However what came was more a tale of disastrous first dates, hilarious though they were, and not so much as a nod to Aphrodite, Narcissus, or Steve and Karen McDonalda much missed Corrie pairing!

The crowd enjoyed the interactive elements of the show, especially when couples were asked whether they had ever googled their partner's ex, a few uncomfortable silences at that juncture! Lucy's observations of stag and hen nights were particularly well received.

Lucy wrote the show feeling cynical and disillusioned with the dating game, but halfway through fell in love, hence the ending feels slightly inconclusive and not quite right.
