A PLAY that began life as a university dissertation and has since been toured all around the north west is returning to Warrington.

Latchford resident Emily Chriscoli's A Walk in the Park will be performed at The King's Club in St Mary's Street on Friday and Saturday, November 13 and 14.

The controversial play, for over 18s only, follows young couple, Jack and Kate, who meet after a night out and whose two-year relationship is tested by a terrible secret.

Emily, a former Priestley College student, said: "There's a lot of laughs, some tears and some revelations. The great thing about A Walk in the Park is that everything is local.

"The play is set in Warrington, it was written by a Warrington resident and it's being performed by people from Warrington in Warrington.

"Warrington was recently named the worst town in England in terms of culture and it's mortifying. We desperately need to change that and what better than a night at the theatre on your doorstep?"

Jack will be played by Conor Burns and Kate will portrayed by Eva McKenna with Sheila Jones, Craig Sharkey and Phil Champagne among the supporting cast.

Doors open at 7.30pm with the performances starting at 8pm. Tickets are £8 (£6 concessions) and can be bought by mailing awitpwarrington@hotmail.com or ringing 872457.
